Qld: Gulf town isolated by flood
Flooding is continuing to cause problems in Queensland with Gulf town Normanton isolated
for at least a week.
Roads are cut to the town and emergency food drops started yesterday with 750 kilogram
of food and medical supplies delivered.
But Carpentaria Shire Mayor ASHLEY GALLAGHER has told the ABC there won't be any special
Easter surprises .. and easter eggs aren't on the list.
He says he hopes more supplies will arrive tomorrow.
There is concern that flooding could impact on the Royal Flying Doctor Service with
the Normanton airport reported to have run out of aviation fuel.
Mr GALLAGHER says the fuel shortage could affect also other primary services.
