Ecopsychologically speaking, I was wrong about bottoms.(News)

I was lying on my back under the shade of a leafy tree on the border of the Kruger National Park, trying to meditate, when a man perched in the cabin of his yellow road grader, looking a bit like a giraffe, drove by and waved.

I learnt later that giraffes gather in "towers", hippos in "pods" and elephants, of course, in "herds". Grader, bulldozer and the drivers of other road-building vehicles, I assume, gather in small town bars, or caravans at the side of the road to sip tea poured from fire-blackened kettles.

The driver who waved at us scraped off into the distance, pushing a little pile of road along under him, not unlike a dung beetle rolling its food …
