VIC: Three people stabbed in domestic dispute

MELBOURNE, Aug 26 AAP - Three people are in a serious condition after being stabbed in the
stomach and chest during a domestic dispute at a flat in inner suburban Melbourne today.

A man allegedly stabbed a 72-year-old woman, a 34-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man at a
high-rise block of flats in Neill Street in Carlton at about 1 am, a police spokesman said.

"The stabbing is believed to have stemmed from a domestic argument," he said.

The women were taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital and the man to St Vincents, where they
were in serious but stable conditions, an ambulance service spokesman said.

Police were interviewing a man in his late 30s over the incident, police said.
