Qld: Police call off search for missing pilot
BRISBANE, Jan 12 AAP - A pilot was today presumed dead after police and search andrescue officers scoured a crash site in the Torres Strait.
Police said Zachary Short, 26, a pilot with Cape York Air, issued a mayday call around1.40pm (AEST) yesterday before the crash about 10 nautical miles (18.5km) east of HornIsland.
